A crazy Medal race with lots of suspens! We end up 3rd which put us 7th overall at the DeltyLloyd Regatta...

Medal Race:
The medal Race was sailed really close to the shore therefore it was super shifty, more than 40 degres and lots of ups and down in pressure. It was crucial to keep the head and eyes out of the boat. We had 3 laps to do and at the end, we just got a good shift to pass 2nd at the top mark and finish 3rd at this medal race. Overall, we could gain 2 places and finish 7th at this DeltaLloyd Regatta.
We had few technical points to work on and we are super happy about them. For sure, we lost points easily with an OCS and a capsize, but we are on the good track and look forward to put everything together at our next competition, the Europeans 5-12th of July!
A great shot from day 3 when we were first ... @www.ThomTouw.com

Day 4:
No race today. The wind was too light and too shifty, with lots of rain.

Tomorrow the medal race starts at 3.30pm. Let's have fun!

Day3:
A nice breaze of 15-18knts was blowing this morning, droping to 12knts by the end of our 3rd race. We did some really good things like some  good starts and tactic. The wind was super tricky again, with 30 degres of shift with huge difference in pressure.
We round the top mark at the first race in 1st place and started to have a good lead downwind, but unfortunatly we capsized downind as we were a little overlayline and it started to be quite hot in 18knts! We broke the tiller extention so it was hard to catch up. Second and third race, we sailed very clever and could score a 6th and a 8th.

We are 9th overall with 3 more races to go tomorrow!

Day 2:
An other challenging day on the water. We waited til 5pm to start our races in 4-5knts of very shifty easterly wind. Our speed upwind was a bit of an issue therefore it was hard to be in the first top group at the upwind mark. But our speed and tactic downwind was excellent and we could catch up really well all the time.
We are sitting 10th overall. Let's hope we have a little bit more breeze for our start tomorrow morning.

Day 1:
The south wind was really tricky on our race course. We had between 5-11knts and more than 30 degres shifts! It was a challenging day as the pressures were coming sometimes right, sometimes left on the course with no systematic. We really had to keep the eyes open.
Unfortunatly, we didnt start the competition as we wanted with an OCS (start too early) but then we sailed a really good race and got a 4th place. Few tactical mistakes in the last race made us loose few places and we ended up 14th. It's a really good training for us as those conditions are not our favorite at all but we can still fight in front of the fleet!
Tomorrow start at 1pm with again a light and tricky day.. and super warm 30 degres!! Crazy Holland!

After 5 days of training in cold but strong north wind in Medemlik Holland, the weather has changed radicaly. We are now under a high pressure and we can enjoy the 25degres and the sun ... it's quite a big change compare to last year with 5degres and almost snow :)

Let's see if Eole will blow a little .. Racing start tomorrow. Stay tunes one http://www.deltalloydregatta.org/
